Safety

Safety

The safety program, across every project.

Each project's safety records already live in Jig. Safety brings them together at the company level: the program, the training, the talks, the logs and the audits, with every person seeing what their role needs.

Safety is included in every seat. Field seats see their own talks, training, emergency cards and the hazard report form; your safety director sees every project.

Program

Plans and policies

Your safety plan and policies as versioned documents, acknowledged by each person with a date and signature, and acknowledged again when a new version is issued. Each project gets a site-specific plan filled from the company plan.

Emergency card

Every project has an emergency card: 911 and poison control, the site address and location, the muster point from the site plan, your company's emergency contacts (never a worker's personal contacts) and utility numbers, and the nearest hospital, with the date its route was last checked and a reminder to confirm the route. It prints with the print date and the date its contacts last changed, and it's on every phone.

Safety data sheets

Keep safety data sheets by product, manufacturer and revision date, linked to the projects that use them, with reminders when one needs replacing.

Job safety analyses

Job safety analysis and pre-task plan templates, filled for each task with the crew's sign-in, and linked to the daily log and the schedule task.

Toolbox talks and training

Toolbox talks

A library of talks, your own uploads included, scheduled by project or company. Deliver a talk from a phone with its text, photos and an optional quiz. Attendees sign in from their own phones, or a foreman records an attendance mark and the attendee signs in the box themselves; missed attendees get a follow-up.

Training and certifications

OSHA 10 and 30, first aid and CPR, operator cards, fall protection, confined space, fit tests and your own courses, with expiry reminders. A training matrix shows the gaps by trade or role, and a project can require more than the company standard.

Incidents and OSHA logs

Incidents and near misses

One log across every project, read from the projects' own safety records, so nothing is entered twice. Near misses and good catches trend by category, and root-cause templates are there when you want them.

OSHA 300, 300A and 301

Federal OSHA forms generated from your incident records for each establishment, with a reminder for the 300A posting period and an export in the format OSHA's electronic submission accepts. Jig doesn't certify: the 300A shows the certification block, and the export records the certifier's name and title as typed by the user.

Federal OSHA forms. California and other state-plan employers: check your state's forms and rules.

A work-related fatality must be reported to OSHA within 8 hours, and an in-patient hospitalization, amputation or loss of an eye within 24 hours, by phone (1-800-321-6742) or osha.gov. Recording the case here does not report it.

Access requests

When an employee, a former employee, their personal representative or the union that represents your employees asks for your OSHA injury and illness records, Jig shows the date the copy is due and builds a printable copy for that kind of requester. Your company checks the copy and gives it to them, and Jig logs the export.

Corrective actions

Corrective actions with an owner, a due date, a verification step and a photo of the fix, rolling up from incidents, observations, audits and inspections.

Medical records kept apart

Medical records sit in a separate medical store that only the people your company gives that role can open; supervisors see a status, never a diagnosis. Every view is recorded.

Audits, inspections and the dashboard

Audits and inspections

Scored inspection templates for the general site, excavation, scaffolding, electrical, fall protection, housekeeping, PPE and fire, plus your own, scheduled per project and done on a phone with photos and mark-up. Findings become corrective actions and re-inspections, and scores trend by project and by section. An annual program audit template scores the program itself.

Safety dashboard

Recordable, DART and lost-time rates worked out from your incidents and hours, days since the last recordable, open corrective actions by age, inspection scores, training compliance and toolbox talk completion, with a tile for each project and a safety layer on the map of every project site. A monthly safety report builds on your letterhead.

Alerts help your team coordinate; they don't replace your site's safety procedures.
